We got the idea to start making candles while living in a cabin in the woods on a mountain in Colorado. This cabin had no electricity so in the long, cold, Colorado winters we burned A LOT of candles. Burning candles in our tiny cabin often gave us head aches and itchy eyes. When we learned that these symptoms can be caused by the toxins found in candles made with petroleum based waxes and scented with synthetic fragrances we set out to make our own all natural, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, candles.
